Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much we love our two firebirds. Wasted our money on solar panels and just should have bought 4 more windmills from you. On long winter nights they are a life saver for us as we live way off the grid. Makes massive power in wind storms, last night the pair were making over 2400 Watts for 16 hours straight from your impressive machines. Makes me happy now when wind blows at last looking forward to wind. Not so much fun before as we are having now. Gas gennys work great when wind is dead. Solar useless up here. Great product, you made a believer out of us. Rex Theo????

NICE HAWK LETTER 11-14-04

"I order a Hawk 12 volt a few months back and it works really well for us up here. We live on a small island off of the cost of Alaska and man a weather and repeater station. It blows between 30 to 68 MPH day and night out here. This little Hawk turbine finally did what my 10,000 watts of solar panels could not do for me in the cloudy and practically sunless northern winters of Alaska. We only run the generator about half of the time now since we got the Hawk. Its hard to believe that this little 20 lb. turbine can charge my 2600 lb. battery in under 6 hours. This is a fantastic little turbine you make. Never had to de-ice it once. Spins like a bat out of Hell. I also treated the blades with silicon oil, a little trick we northerner's use to keep windows clean and easy to de-ice.
I have tried other turbines over the years but they either broke in the first few days or they went into self protection mode from the extreme winds effectively stalling the blades and by that time it was all over anyhow. The stalled blades picked up so much snow and ice that the towers folded days later in the gale force winds. You have a real winner here especially for people in places like me. Thank your engineering team from me personally. Can you sell me a can of that green varnish please since I see some rust forming since I put it up unpainted (My mistake).
Please put it on the same credit card number I faxed a few months ago? Just ship it UPS Blue label to the same Anchorage address if you please. It will find its way out here sooner or later.
My sincerest thanks go out to you for building this great little turbine.
Larry Arronson"

© Birds can identify the nature of small rotors easily, since the entire rotor is fully within the bird's field of vision. Seeing a spinning rotor, a bird will not fly through it. Small birds nest in turbines so bigger birds won't kill their babies. The biggest danger to birds is other birds, then cats. You don't have a cat do you?

Of course not, because you are aware that housecats kill billions of birds every year, right? More than all the turbines combined by thousands of times over. But I digress... : ) Large blades are dangerous because they seem to "come out of nowhere", as far as a bird is concerned, wielding a rock-hard surprise of many tons at about 150 mph. And nothing tells a bird it's not OK to fly through a large rotor - the bird cannot understand large objects, hundreds of feet apart, moving in a large circle, at over a hundred miles per hour. A small rotor it can see, understand and avoid. ©

Dear Bob:
I thought I would drop you a line and let you know about the turbine I ordered from you, it was to replace a southwest wind power windseeker 503, because it continually trashed the blades, I have gone through three of their sets of blades, and now they stopped making and servicing them. As I was assembling the one I received from you the windseeker was on the bench right next to it, and just for the heck of it I thought your hub and blades might go on the windseeker, which it did, I remounted the wind seeker with your hub and six blades and never saw it do such a good job, for nine years I have been hiding from this thing, and now I can stand right underneath it, your advertisement on your web site is 100% truthful, your blades turn with very little wind, and they withstand very high winds, and make very little noise, and virtually no vibration. I would recommend your blades to anybody that wishes to improve their current Wind Chargers. I haven't had a chance to mount your wind turbine yet as I am waiting on another set of blades. And if anybody wants to know about your customer service, I would highly recommend them to you, you always answer your e-mails and are very helpful.
thank you

Subject: I just wanted to say...

From: ?ojo?????@bellsouth.???
Very informative site. I'm looking into building my own wind generator and have had some experience working with
carbon fiber in the boating industry. So I thought I might make some blades myself, but after seeing your blades I will
probably just buy from you and skip the mess.
My biggest problem right now is that Im unemployed so cash is a problem (hence the do-it-yourself notion). I will build
the alternator myself, but the blades you have will work perfectly for what I have in mind. I'm going to take my guitar
right now, and get out on that street corner and scrape up some pennies (LOL). Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for
doing something to empower the average guy to get off the grid.
Sincerely
Charles A. Smith

Hi Kim,
The jet stream finally lowered over western Wyoming & we had high winds for the past 12 hours/50 MPH + gusts.
The Hornet/wind turbine worked extremely well & I was very pleased with its performance! I believe the alternator
loosened up & it starts at a lower wind speed, now.
Keep working on a low wind speed wind turbine for wind zones 1-2. I think the market is there much more than the
moderate to high wind speed alternators.
Will send pics of my installation of the Hornet.
Keep up the good design work of the Hornet.
Thanks for your help.
Gary P.

hello, I've got a 4 yr. old air403....they said almost "silent operation"... bull, my neighbors hate me..it sounds like a huge
weed whipper or, with high winds... it cuts out too quickly making a big roar...
can I replace the blades with yours? which ones? thanks

I noticed awhile back u had just a blade set for one of these. Will you
sell a blade hub combo? btw The pma's I got from u 2 years ago are still up
and rockin, They have seen some crazy winds 80+ in storms. Also no blade
malfuctions either. Just occasionally having to pick them up 1/4 mile away
after tower failures, LOL! Let me know when u get a chance.
Thanks Jim

Hello,
I have an Air X 403 and have replaced the controller inside four times now.
I have a switch that shorts the turbine but it still burns up the coil after
50 MPH winds was wondering if maybe there is a better way.
I'm done fixing that junky AirX every time it blows over 50 mph. I live on Martha's
Vineyard and it's mounted on a raft in the water. It's gusting over 40 as I write this
email so I will probably blow out the fifth $150.00 control board by the end of today.
Do you have something to help me out?
Thanks!

Spinning does NOT equal power!

There are many blades on the market that can spin in any tiny little
breeze BUT spinning SLOW will NEVER give you high charging amperage!!

Our blades coupled to our LOW cogging - easy turning PMA's will spin
800% faster than the fat wind turbine blades.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY BLADES THAT SLOWLY SPIN AROUND
ALL THE TIME BUT NEVER "TAKE OFF" into the ultra high RPM range.

For a direct drive PMA speed is way more important!

Works great in salt water with the Marine coating we sell HERE

To: Dear thermodyne_hydrogen_appliances,

Just a update on my turbine. Its putting six amps in very mild wind and I
mean mild. My miss&%& wind never did this at all. Ever. I have sold it. You
information and email response made it happen. I'm so happy with your
product. Can't wait for a good wind. I'm tree bound and it still makes
power. Just wanted to say thank you. Amy

Do you have low wind and can't get up to charging voltage?? - Try SERIES / PARALLEL wiring for battery charging.

Torque Calculations:
We have no Torque figures since Torque is totally a function of LOAD. A PMA with no
load requires ZERO torque to turn at a ZERO load. You can't rate PMA's with simple torque
figures since "AMPS" or "LOAD" is up to every individual situation and individual people
have endless configuration ideas for their DRIVER and LOAD figures for whatever "Gizmo"
they are building. A young healthy human can generate about 300 Watts tops,, for a while.

These is all you really need to know is:
1 HP = 745 Watts / This is the conversion figure of electrical power to
mechanical power and vis-versa. From the HP and YOUR amp load
figure you can calculate any required TORQUE figures for YOUR
specific driver and YOUR specific LOAD which WE do not know

NOTICE FOR ANY OF YOU A.E. NOVICES OUT THERE:

A battery is basically a BIG capacitor in electronic terms. Once your batteries
are fully charged you must THEN stop putting any additional power into it!

WIND TURBINE DESIGNERS HINT - When picking out a PMA the better
choice is the higher voltage model. You don't want to be under powered.
You MUST always exceed the batteries voltage to produce ANY net gain.
